Lucknow: At least nine people died and two others were injured when a wall collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. According to the administration, the labourers who lost their lives in the accident had come to Lucknow to build quarters in the Army area of Dilkusha. The construction work was completed two months ago, but the workers working there were living illegally in this area of Dilkusha.

The same workers have been victims of this painful accident. The dead include three children. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. He has also ordered free treatment for all the injured. According to the information received, 9 bodies have been recovered from the spot and the injured have been admitted to the hospital.  

Giving information about the accident, the District Magistrate of Lucknow has said that the injured are being treated free of cost. It has been raining heavily in Lucknow since Thursday. Meanwhile, the accident occurred due to the collapse of a wall at night. As soon as the information was received, the army relief team reached the spot and took out the bodies from the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital. At present, the injured are undergoing treatment.
