New Delhi: Spice Jet Airline has decided to operate a special flight this time for Haj pilgrimage. Under the decision, Spice Jet will operate a total of 148 special flights this year. These flights will be operated from Srinagar to Medina and Jeddah. The Spice Jet claims that about 11 thousand pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will be benefited through special flights.

According to Spice Jet, the airline has deployed a Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the Haj yatra. The first flight of Spice Jet for Haj pilgrimage will depart from Srinagar on 4th July. After which, between July 4 and July 29, the Spice Jet will fly a total of 148 times between Jeddah and Medina from Srinagar. According to a senior airline official, the special flight from Jeddah and Medina to Srinagar will be operational from August 16 after the Haj pilgrimage, which will continue till September 11.

On the other hand, SpiceJet Chief and Managing Director Ajay Singh has said that SpiceJet has been given a small role to help Indian pilgrims travel to Mecca for the Hajj this year.
