As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse prepares to hit theaters this weekend, the filmmakers provided fans with an encouraging update on Spider-Man 4. There is no doubt that the fourth Spider-Man film will be a smashing success. Amy Pascal, Spider-Man 4's producer, provided an encouraging update on everything from cast members to the anticipated release date.

In recent interview producer Amy Pascal said, “Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are.”  Fans may have to wait a little longer for Spider-Man 4, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, because work has been halted due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. Pascal said, “We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

After six weeks of discussions, the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers failed to reach an agreement on May 2. They have stopped working in order to demand better wages, working conditions, and creative freedom.

The writers' strike in the Marvel Cinematic Universe suggests that fans will have to wait longer for the fourth Spider-Man picture. The preceding film in the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was released in 2021.
