Cricketers are given lounges to spend time in such a situation, but hockey players had to spend time sitting at the airport. The 11:30-hour trip to Johannesburg was followed by a 12-hour waiting time to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was then scheduled to travel to Chile, where it took 4:30 hours from Brazil. Thus, the Indian hockey team had to travel 72 hours from Bengaluru to Chile. The next day was the match, but there was no breakfast arrangement. The match was from 12:30. In this case, biscuits were given for breakfast at 11 o'clock. Then they were asked to carry bananas, biscuits, and water to the ground because there was no food arrangement. Lara said it was the plight of the medal-winning national hockey team. He said that the players did not even get the match fee, the players had just gone there because of their passion.
