Sri Lankan cricket president Shammi Silva has claimed that he has received the green signal from the Asian Cricket Council to host the Asia Cup T20 tournament. Shammi Silva said, "We discussed with the Pakistan Cricket Board and they have agreed to hold the tournament in Sri Lanka this year due to the current state of the world." He further added, "The ACC had an online meeting on 8 June in which they gave us the green signal to host the tournament."
