Chennai: MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, convened an all-party meeting on the NEET exam issue on Saturday and said that the state would convene a special assembly session to adopt another bill for NEET exam exemption and send it to Governor RN Ravi for his approval.
He asserted that the Governor failed to fulfil his responsibilities by delaying the passage of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Bill by the state parliament.
Stalin remarked at an all-party meeting at the Secretariat in Chennai, "Before returning the bill to the government, the Governor had sat on it for 142 days. On the NEET exam problem, I talked with the governor in person."
"The bill was passed in the assembly in response to an 8-crore-strong demand for exemption from the NEET exam. The bill received unanimous approval in the state legislature. I'd like to invite you all, as representatives of political parties, to participate in today's all-party meeting and provide your essential input. The Governor did not transmit it to the President for his approval "said the Chief Minister.
