In 2018, the report of the magistrate inquiry into the railway accident near the Joda rail gate on Dussehra has been revealed. In this, along with Saurav Madan alias Mittu Madan, a close aide of former Punjab minister Navjet Singh Sidhu, 23 people have been held responsible for the accident. 58 people watching Ravana Dahan were killed in this incident on the evening of Dussehra on October 19, 2018. Purushartha gave his report after investigation. The report is said to have held 23 people, including organizers, responsible for the accident. Soon after the incident, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh ordered to complete the investigation in four weeks. The magistrate is said to have sent the report to the Chief Minister only on November 19, 2018. Despite this, the government did not make it public. Sarabjit Singh Verka, chief investigator of a human rights organization led by retired Justice Ajit Singh Bains of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, alleged that the report was suppressed due to political influence.
Jalandhar Division Magistrate B.R. Purushartha submitted a report to the government on November 19 last year - Sarabjit Singh Verka has given a complaint to the police commissioner, Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, for registering a case against 23 people. He says that now the GRP should include the names of the officers included in the report in the FIR. If justice is not granted, he will file a petition in the High Court in 15 days.
