A case has been registered in Lucknow after Aligarh for protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The most important reason for this is section 144. In view of the opposition, the government had implemented Section 144 in Uttar Pradesh till 31 January. Even after this, the performance continues. A case has been registered against more than 250 people in Lucknow, out of which three are named.
According to media reports, a large number of women joined the people of various organizations on Thursday in a weeklong protest against the CAA and NRC in Ghantaghar without permission. Men were also standing around and leading the dharna. ADCP Vikas Chandra Tripathi said that more than 400 women and men involved in the dharna have been given notice here. In which it has been clearly stated that the picket-demonstration is illegal and it is causing inconvenience to the tourists visiting the clock tower. This is a historical site and picketing is not allowed here. ADCP Tripathi warned of stern action against the protesters. Section 144 is applicable in the city, even dharna is not allowed, yet men along with women are gathering at the clock tower. In this case, three FIRs have been registered against more than a hundred people. He said that the police are constantly warning. Strict action will be taken after notice and FIR.
An FIR has been lodged at the Gomtinagar police station against 131 women protesting at Ujriyanv village in Gomtinagar at a dargah. Six women have been nominated among them. Among the women nominated are Asman Siddiqui, Tanno, Ushara, Rubina, Baby and Hayat leading the protest. Inspector Gomtinagar told that all are involved in the demonstration without permission. Despite being warned, they are standing Here, an FIR has been lodged at the Gomti Nagar police station on behalf of Bur chowki incharge Hussain Abbas.
