On Monday, Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu hinted at holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and said that power should go into the hands of the people as soon as possible. Addressing the people and officials after inaugurating the drawer bridge constructed by the Border Roads Organization on Rajouri-Kandi-Budhal road, the Lt. Governor said that in recent days, the government has strengthened the hands of the people of Khand Vikas Parishad with the Panchayat elections For the purpose of getting it done.

In his statement, the Lt. Governor said that we had also told earlier that the government should be in the hands of the people and that too at the earliest. When asked about the timing of the assembly elections, he said that it will be known soon.

Apart from this, the Lieutenant Governor said that the drawer bridge is important for the socio-economic development of the Rajouri district along with the army. The Lt. Governor also praised the Indian Army for its unwavering dedication to duty. He lauded the tireless efforts made by the Chief Engineer, Project Liaison and his team to carry out the green work. On this occasion, Northern Command Chief Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, 16 Corps Commanders Lt Gen Harsh Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma , DIG, Rajouri Poonch Range, Vivek Gupta, Chief Engineer Project Liaison Brigadier YK Ahuja, District Commissioner Nazir Sh B, SSP chew Manhas were present.
