Recently, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said that it hurts when I read somewhere that murder has taken place. Political killings are a shame for democracy. Democracy does not mean violence, peace, co-existence. Political parties can never be enemies of each other. Yes, it can be competitive, can be rival.

According to the media report, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar arrived in the morning on Tuesday morning at AJC Bose Indian Botanical Garden in Shivpur. He further said that I would like to appeal to the people of the state to come forward to maintain peace in Bengal, take out a march. I want to tell the people of the state to keep away from violence.

In his statement, the governor said, I pray for peace in Bengal. Bengal became a peaceful state. We should renounce violence. There should not be violence in the state, violence tarnishes the image of any state. Appealing to the people, he said that on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, all of us should take a pledge that we will live together in peace. We will not support violence.

Apart from this, the governor said, there can be differences among themselves, it is also the right of all, but there should be no violence. Whenever I hear the news of violence, as the Governor of Bengal, my heart gets bled. I would like to appeal to the people, respect the ideals of the Mahatma. I would also like to tell people that every person should remember the Mahatma every day. In any case, we should stay away from violence and avoid violence.
