Mumbai: Shiv Sena has raised the issue of VAT on petrol and diesel through Saamana newspaper, Shiv Sena said that the central government should stop doing injustice to Maharashtra. The availability of oxygen and the preparedness of the hospitals were discussed, but the newspaper claims that the chief ministers of non-BJP ruled states were "taunted" in the meeting.

At present, the prices of petrol and diesel have gone up to more than Rs 100, the price of petrol was 70 rupees a litre during the Congress rule, then the BJP came out on the road against the price rise, creating a ruckus. At that time, Narendra Modi was the CM of Gujarat, and then he had asked, 'Why did the PM not speak on price rise?' Why are they silent?' Now the members of the Modi cabinet support inflation and ask the question of whether Modi has become PM to bring down petrol and diesel prices? According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Modi says that the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel is a global problem, but even during the tenure of Manmohan Singh as PM, petrol-diesel was a global problem like today.

It has been mentioned in the Saamana that in view of the elections of 5 states, including UP, Prime Minister Modi had reduced the oil prices by Rs 5, but after winning the election, he increased the oil prices by a whopping Rs 10. But only 55 per cent of the free amount of tax is given in the return, Maharashtra gives the highest revenue to the country, yet the central government is not giving 26 thousand 500 crore rupees due to GST of the right of the state. According to Pm Modi, PM Modi holds the states responsible in every matter. The prime minister has blamed the states for the increase in the rates of petrol and diesel, shortage of coal, and lack of oxygen. Modi government has collected 26 lakh crores through petrol-diesel in 8 years. According to Saamana, the discussion in the meeting was one-sided. Prime Minister Modi should have avoided it, why does the Centre not see why Bengal spent Rs 1,500 crore to control fuel tariff hike in the last three years?
