Motta MacDonald and Restrata are teaming up to develop a five-step strategy to get the fans back to the stadium. The strategy focuses on performance-based disease control principles along with the tested technology, which stadium owners can use to enable them to conduct sporting events that are affected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The strategy aims in reducing the risks in several ways:

- The matchday exposure risk varies with factors like how fans reach the stadium, what they do inside, the surroundings they are interacting with. A model list of fan behavior should be developed about the fan behavior right from stepping out of the home and marketed widely to reach the fans.

- The stadium should do compliance with the number of fans allowed, staffing and steward requirement following the guidelines issued by the Government or the Ministry without affecting the capital investments and operational costs.

- The stadium should think of how challenges can be approached in a different way. The risk of infection transmission management by identifying hotspots and analyzing how the existing guidelines can be improvised. The reduced risk profile for the stadium has to be used to reassure fans of the club’s commitment to providing safety.

- Supply of Clean air through the building services systems, reducing the number of touchpoints by implementing ICT technologies, fan behaviors has to be monitored by COVID-19 security technologies. Effective communication and enforcing practically ensures safety by reducing risk.

- Analyzing the interventions executed and modifying the regulations according to the matchday behavior. Intelligent management recommendations will ensure safety. Health screening on non-match days improves community health and supports track and trace.
