New Delhi: A Thursday, a Jamia Millia Islamia University student was injured when another student allegedly shot at him inside the Holy Family Hospital remises on Thursaday late evening.

The Jamia Nagar police station got a Police Control Romm call around 9 p.m. on Thursday about a fight in the Jamia Millia Islamia university library, according to the Delhi Police.

When the police looked into what happened, they found that the fight was between two groups of students. In the incident, a 26-year-old law student from Sardahan village in Meerut named Noman Chaudhary got a blow to the head. He was taken to the Holy Family Hospital to get help.

Police said that Nauman Chaudhary's friend Nauman Ali, who was also a student, also went to the hospital to see his friend. In the meantime, one student of the second group namely Zalal, a resident of Mewat, Haryana accompanied by his friends came to the hospital and fired at Nauman Ali outside the Emergency ward in the hospital premises.

The police said that Nauman Ali had a small cut on his head. He is now at the AIIMS Trauma Center.

Police said legal action has been initiated at Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony police stations. Further details are awaited.
