Bhubaneswar: The surface-to-air Quick Reaction Missile System, which was manufactured indigenously from the Integrated Test Range at Odisha, was successfully tested. With this, the developmental tests of this missile weapon system have been successfully completed and it is expected to be included in the weapons fleet by the year 2021.

This test has proved the missile's firepower. According to information provided by the Ministry of Defense, the missile hit the target accurately in the air and fulfilled all its objectives. The test has been closely monitored through the ground telemetry system, range radar system, and electro-optical tracking system.

The Quick Reaction missile operates on the basis of fully automated command and control systems, battery monitoring radars, multifunction radars, and launchers. This missile is capable of covering the target at 360 degrees. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and DRDO President Dr. G. Satish Reddy have congratulated the team of scientists related to this missile system. In fact, these days India's border disputes with Pakistan and China have increased and Pakistan is constantly threatening India, due to which India is also completing its preparations so that the defense mechanism remains strong.
