New Delhi: India's javelin throw players continue to perform brilliantly at the ongoing Paralympics in Tokyo. Sumit Antill has won India's third medal in the event. He won a gold medal in the men's (F64 category) final on Monday. With Sumit's victory, India's medal tally has gone up to 7.

Sumit won the gold medal by throwing a javelin 68.55 m away. Sumit Antil's throw has also become a world record. This is India's second gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. Avani Lakhera gave India gold in the shoot before Sumit. She won the gold medal on Monday by finishing first in the women's R-2 10m Air Rifle StandingS SH1.

Sumit has broken his own record in this match. He threw the spear 66.95 meters away in the first throw, which set a world record. In the second attempt, he smashed his own record by throwing a 68.08 m spear. Sumit further improved his performance and set a world record by throwing 68.55 meters in the fifth attempt.
