New Delhi: Former captain of the Indian cricket team Sunil Gavaskar has praised the BCCI's decision to postpone the IPL over the Coronavirus. He said that BCCI has taken the right decision by postponing the 13th season of IPL. 

Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his column in Sportstar that "the BCCI's decision to postpone the IPL by 15 April is laudable. More important than the game is the safety of the nation and the players." The IPL was to begin on March 29. The BCCI has postponed it till 15 April due to Corona. Gavaskar said that the future of IPL depends on how soon the coronavirus is controlled in the country. He wrote that, "Having an IPL depends on how quickly the infection of the Kovid-19 gets controlled."

Sunil Gavaskar also targeted the BCCI official who said that he did not want the IPL to be a weak tournament like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The official said that without foreign players, the IPL will also be like the Mushtaq Ali tournament. To this, Gavaskar said that "The statement of the BCCI official regarding Syed Mushtaq Ali is very insensitive. Firstly, this contest is named after him, this statement is an insult to that great player. Secondly, if it This is such a bad tournament, so why do you make it happen. "
