London: The apex court has sought clarification from its own registry in the contempt case by fugitive liquor businessman Vijay Mallya as to why his petition for reconsideration of the May 2017 decision to convict liquor baron Vijay Mallya was listed for three years Not done

In fact, in that decision of 2017, Mallya was found guilty of contempt of court for concealing property information. After which Mallya has filed a review petition on that decision of 2017. The bench of Justice UU Lalit and Justice Ashok Bhushan gave this order while hearing the review petition of Vijay Mallya on 16 June. The registry of the apex court has been asked to present all the details including the names of the officials who have seen the file related to this reconsideration petition for three years.

The court's June 16 order said, "According to the record presented before us, the reconsideration petition has not been produced before the court for the last three years. Before looking into the issues raised in the reconsideration petition, we direct the registry to clear why this petition was not presented before the court concerned in the last three years.
