World Refugee Day is celebrated every year on 20 June. This day is considered to pay tribute to the courage, strength, and resolve of those who are forced to leave their home due to violence, conflict, war, and persecution, or rather those who are forced to leave their country and flee outside. This day is celebrated to draw people's attention to the circumstances of these refugees so that this problem can be solved.

The United Nations (UNO) announced this day in the year 2000. Since then, World Refugee Day is observed every year on 20 June. It aims to help refugees and other forcibly displaced people who rebuild their lives with peace and dignity.

According to the United Nations Human Rights Organization (UNHRC), in the year 2019, the number of these refugees in the whole world has reached 79.50 million. In the year 2019 alone, one crore people leaving their homes and settling in other places has become a matter of great concern, which needs attention.
