New Delhi: In the demolition case of Ramnagri Ayodhya's Babri Masjid, the apex court has given a month's time to the CBI Trial Court of Lucknow to pronounce its verdict. The apex court has given time till September 30, extending the period of one month for the trial court to hear the verdict. Senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and other leaders have been accused in the case.

It is noteworthy that the mosque was demolished by 'karsevaks' on 6 December 1992 in Ayodhya. It claimed that instead of the mosque there used to be an ancient temple of Lord Ram. Advani and Joshi were among those who led the Ram temple movement. In the Ayodhya Babri demolition case, veteran BJP leader LK Advani had on July 24 (Friday) recorded his statement before the Special Judge through video conferencing.

During this time the former Deputy Prime Minister of the country rejected all the allegations against him. He called the central government of that time responsible for the allegations against him. Describing himself as innocent in this case, Advani said that the allegations against him were motivated by politics.
