New Delhi: The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Lieutenant Governor (LG) on the proposal to send teachers from Delhi to Finland for training. In this matter, the apex court has issued a notice to the LG of Delhi. This notice to LG has been issued on the petition of the Delhi Government. In fact, Delhi's Kejriwal government had sent a proposal to send teachers to Finland for training to LG VK Saxena. But this proposal was stuck due to non-approval from LG.
Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleges that LG VK Saxena is not allowing teachers to be sent to Finland for training. In this case, Raj Niwas has already made it clear that the LG has not stopped teachers from being sent abroad for training. AAP had filed a petition with the Supreme Court regarding this issue.
Let us tell you that, a month ago, the Kejriwal government told us that the file for the Finland teacher training programme was first sent to the LG office on October 25, 2022, so that he could consider the issue and send it to the President of India within 15 days. Can send to AAP alleges that, in violation of the rules, the LG returned the file to the Chief Secretary of Delhi on November 10, 2022, raising three objections. SCERT, the organisation looking after teacher training activities, clarified those points and again sent the file to LG on December 14, 2022.
After this, the Lieutenant Governor returned the file to the Chief Minister on January 9, 2023, seeking two more clarifications. Then-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia sent a detailed reply to LG on January 20, 2023, through CM.
