New Delhi: Supreme Court has granted a week to the government in the lone moratorium case. The apex court said that no guideline has been issued by the Reserve Bank of India for the relief on interest. The court has therefore asked for a new affidavit to clarify the position within a week.

The court said, the government will file a new affidavit by October 12 detailing how the interest re-issue will be implemented. During the hearing, the real estate companies' organization said that many figures and facts in the epaute filed by the government are baseless. Credai has asked for a few more days to respond to the central government's affidavit. Cray's lawyer said there was no relief to the real estate sector by the central government.

He said the government has not provided any loan restructuring facility to the sector. Companies are paying full interest. Credai has objected to the government's Rs 6 lakh crore figure. In response, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the government, said that relief has been given to different sectors as per available resources.
