New Delhi: The Gangster Vikas Dubey encounter case of Kanpur was heard in the apex court on Monday. Meanwhile, CJI SA Bobde has questioned the Uttar Pradesh government in the whole matter, calling it a failure of the system. During the hearing, the court also rejected the comparison of this encounter with the Hyderabad encounter by the UP government. CJI SA Bobde said that there is a big difference between the Hyderabad and Vikas Dubey encounter case. He (the Hyderabadi) was the rapist and murderer of a woman. While Dubey and his associates were killers of policemen.'

The court also expressed shock over Vikas Dubey being granted bail even after his name was registered for serious offenses. The court asked for records from the UP government and said that he was out of jail even after several cases of serious crime were registered against him. This is the failure of the system. The court said that the sitting judge of the top court cannot be included in the inquiry committee.

After the court order, the Yogi government of UP agreed to the re-constitution of the inquiry committee. The government assured the court that in two days the notification of the new committee will be presented before the court. The matter will be next heard on Wednesday after the UP government issues a draft notification on the Judicial Inquiry Committee.
