New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has refused to give relief to the Central Government at present on the demand for promotion by giving reservation benefits in government jobs. In the present time, the Central Government had applied to the apex court to allow the promotion. Supreme Court Chief Justice S. Bobde said that the apex court is not going to make any change in its April 2019 order or even issue any clarification in matters related to the reservation in promotion of SC / ST.

The Supreme Court also refused to hear the Central Government's application. The central government argued in the court that due to not being given promotion through the reservation, there is a problem in running the government. Ad-hoc promotions are to be given on one lakh 30 thousand posts, but the top court has not given permission for this.

A bench of Supreme Court Chief Justice (CJI) SA Bobde, Justice L Nageswara Rao told Attorney General KK Venugopal, appearing for the Center, that in the interest of justice we will not amend the status quo. These issues will be heard after four weeks.
