New Delhi: The Supreme Court dismissed a plea for re-polling at 45 booths in Bihar's Munger Lok Sabha seat, filed by RJD candidate Kumari Anita. Allegations of widespread rigging during the elections were made, with claims that JDU workers colluded with polling officials to manipulate the voting process. Kumari Anita contended that incidents of rigging and violence occurred at multiple polling stations, prompting her to seek intervention from the highest court in the land.

Despite Kumari Anita's plea, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case and advised her to seek redressal through the state's High Court. The court stressed the importance of exhausting legal remedies at the state level before approaching the Supreme Court for intervention. Consequently, Kumari Anita withdrew her petition, indicating a shift in focus towards pursuing relief through the state judiciary.

Despite raising concerns with the District Election Officer and filing an FIR regarding the alleged irregularities, Kumari Anita's plea was redirected to the High Court for further examination and potential action. The court's decision underscores the significance of adhering to legal procedures and exhausting remedies available at lower levels of the judiciary before seeking intervention from higher authorities.
