New Delhi: The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over the sexual harassment of women at the workplace. The court has said that even after 10 years of implementation of the (POSH) Act 2013, its provisions are being implemented poorly. Which is totally wrong. The apex court has ordered strict implementation of this provision. The apex court has asked the central government to ensure that the provisions of the POSH Act 2013 are strictly implemented in private controlled organizations like public sector undertakings and other bodies.

At the same time, other state authorities / bodies including state level, universities, commissions and other organizations etc. should be implemented in the same way as above. The court has also said that the members/employees/employers of all bodies/institutions/organizations should be made aware of the provisions of the POSH Act 2013. The concerned officers/employers of any organization should organize awareness sessions for their members about the importance of the POSH Act 2013.

Along with this, the Court has asked NALSA and other State Legal Services Committee to develop modules on POSH Act 2013 for conducting sensitization programs in universities, schools and other organizations etc. The National Judicial Academy and other State Judicial Academies have been ordered to include the POSH Act 2013 in their schedule.
