New Delhi: The Supreme Court will today give its verdict on the review petition by fugitive liquor businessman Vijay Mallya in the contempt case. Vijay Mallya of Kingfisher Airlines transferred $ 40 million, to his children, not accepting the Supreme Court's order. The apex court is scheduled to pronounce verdict on the review petition of Vijay Mallya, guilty of his contempt.

On May 9, 2017, the court found Vijay Mallya guilty of contempt for transferring $ 40 million of Diego Deal to his children's bank account and not giving proper information about the property. However, Mallya filed a review petition before the conviction could be done. Mallya's sentence will be determined in the event of the rejection of the reconsideration application. Vijay Mallya's reconsideration petition was not put before the judges for a long time. For this delay in the case, the court raided its registry, but the case is now heard in the open court.

On May 9, 2017, the court convicted Mallya for contempt of court. After the court's decision, the Bench of Justice UU Lalit and Ashok Bhushan reserved the verdict after hearing through video conferencing on the reconsideration petition Mallya had filed in the court.
