1984 anti-Sikh riots case: Supreme Court to hear the plea today

In the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots case, the plea registered by one of the victim Gurlad Singh Kahlon today is scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court. The centre earlier was directed to deposit files in relation to the case.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told the apex court that the SIT in as many as 263 cases had no case files and there was no trace of any victim or witness.

The centre on February 20 filed a report in the court on the investigation conducted by the SIT into anti-Sikh riots cases.

In the Anti-Sikh riots, many people lost their lives that broke out after the assassination of Prime minister Indira Gandhi.
