New Delhi: Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi has termed Sunday's mistreatment of Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh as an insult to Bihar. Sushil Modi has said that the misbehaviour of the government with Harivanshji is an insult to Bihar. Even after behaving badly with Chairman Harivansh, the RJD did not even regret or apologize.

During the passage of the agriculture bill on Sunday, some MPs in the Rajya Sabha threw paper towards the seat, broke the mics and torn the rule book. Taking cognizance of the incident on Monday, Upper House Chairman Venkaiah Naidu said "Yesterday was the worst day for the Rajya Sabha. A no-confidence motion was also started by opposition MPs against the deputy chairman, which was rejected by the Chairman on Monday. The chairman took action and suspended 8 MPs who were found responsible for yesterday's incident".

Chairman Venkaiah Naidu said on Monday, "I am deeply saddened by this incident. The deputy chairman was threatened. MPs from opposition parties have been suspended. 8 MPs have been suspended for the remaining sessions. Among the MPs to be suspended are Derek O'Brien, Sanjay Singh, Ripun Bora, Nazir Hussain, KK Ragesh, A Karim, Rajeev Satav, Dola Sen".
