On Sunday, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, a Shankaracharya of the Dwarka Sharda Peeth, passed away, at the age of 99. At 3.30 p.m., he passed away at the Paramhansi Ganga Ashram in Jhoteshwar, Narsinghpur. Tomorrow around 3.30 p.m. in Jhoteshwar proper, the final rituals of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati will be performed. The final darshan will be held tonight and tomorrow.

Shankaracharya for a very long time, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was suffering from illness. Samadhi will be given in the ashram itself tomorrow. He recently celebrated turning 99 years old. His recovering pupil is named Digvijay Singh. Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was imprisoned after taking part in the struggle for liberation. He also engaged in a protracted legal battle to support the building of the Ram temple.
