Elbit Systems, an Israeli defence electronics business, has announced that it would supply battle management systems to the Swedish Navy.
Elbit was granted a contract by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration to provide its Albatross systems to the Swedish Armed Forces following a competitive bidding process.Elbit will provide the systems for Sweden's Sparo class mine countermeasures (MSM) ships, which will detect and hunt for naval mines.
Albatross provides commanders and operators with a single operational picture based on real-time data, live video streaming, and imaging data that correlates underwater detection with surface tracks. This enables the operating envelop to be expanded, as well as enhanced flexibility and better decision-making during MSM operations.
