Famous TV actor Mandar Chandwadkar is seen playing the role of Atmaram Bhide in television's famous comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.' For the last 14 years, the show has been entertaining the audience. On this occasion, Mandar recalled the days when he left his engineering job in Dubai and came to Mumbai to try his luck in acting. Mandar said that it was a very risky decision for him. Switching from one career to another could have been a huge threat, but he still gave himself an opportunity.  

In the year 2000, when Mandar Chandwadkar left his job and came to Mumbai, his decision was a big decision. Mandar took this risk to pursue a career in acting. There used to be very few and limited channels in those days. In the end, he got the character of Atmaram. It's also after a lot of struggle. Mandar said, "I am thankful that whatever decision I had taken, today it has taken me to this high level. After a struggling period, I got the character in Taarak Mehta and the rest have a history in front of you."

The same Mandar has been seen playing the character of Atmaram Bhide in Taarak Mehta for the past several years. The show's popularity has been worth watching. Everyone knows him by the same name as Atmaram Bhide. The actor says that the way social media is moving forward, people have now started knowing him by his real name as well. However, his laundry bill still comes in the name of Atmaram Bhide. Recently, the creator of the show Asit Modi revealed that for 6 years, his show was not even being taken by the channel. He later got a deal with Sony Channel. Asit Modi said, "Sony Pictures was being re-formatted. All that was going to be converted into a comedy channel. The channel's COO NP Singh asked me what to do. He liked the concept of the show very much, but there was no budget for the show. I knew I was going to suffer a loss on the show. My wife and team gave me a message and said that they do something. I took it as a challenge. Listen to what's inside of you. We did the hard work and see it has been 14 years since the show. It seems we had just started."
