He was my neighbour Sameer Arya's neighbour and close friend. When I was younger, both of them kept a close watch on me. Whenever they saw a boy talking to me, they used to beat him up. Both Ajay and Sameer were huge goons.' She had said, 'I tell Ajay every other day to find someone suitable for me. Well, I made this joke. We are very good friends. Of all the male actors, if anyone matters to me, he is Ajay. He is very protective even today.'
Though Tabu is still a bachelor, her name has been associated with many people. She is said to have dated famous director Sajid Nadiadwala. Apart from this, she has also dated South Superstar Nagarjuna. He was married at that time and for this reason, Tabu could not marry him.
