Tamil Actor-Director G Marimuthu Passes Away While Dubbing for TV Show

Chennai: Renowned Tamil actor and director, G Marimuthu, passed away today at the age of 58, on September 8. Tragically, he suffered a fatal heart attack while in the midst of dubbing for his television program, "Ethir Neechal," at approximately 8:30 am. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased. Marimuthu had achieved fame as a YouTube sensation and had last graced the silver screen in the films "Jailer" and "Red Sandal Wood," sharing the screen with Rajinikanth. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his countless fans. He leaves behind his wife, Backiyalakshmi, and two children, Akilan and Ishwarya.

Marimuthu embarked on his filmmaking journey with "Kannum Kannum" in 2008, making a mark in the industry. In addition to his directorial pursuits, he displayed his versatility by taking on various character roles in Tamil cinema. Early in his career, he collaborated closely with the esteemed lyricist Vairamuthu and also contributed as an assistant director in Tamil film projects.

His acting prowess shone brightly in notable films such as "Vaali," "Jeeva," "Pariyerum Perumal," and "Jailer," among others. Since 2022, he had been an integral part of the Tamil television serial, "Ethir Neechal." Marimuthu enjoyed a significant following on YouTube and had garnered attention on social media platforms due to his insightful opinions. His clips from his television show had gained viral status across various social media platforms.
