Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced the cancellation of class 12 state board exams. The decision was advised by the experts and medical committee in view of third wave to be arrived soon.

Earlier to this, central government announced cancellation of 12th board examination. Stalin initiative of cancellation came after he received the feedback that mental and physical well being of students is of paramount importance. The Education Department Expert Committee will be formed to determine how marks will be awarded to the students of Class 12. Earlier on June 2, Tamil Nadu had announced that the decision regarding the cancellation of TN Class 12 board exams will be announced on June 4. Students already speculated about the exams not being held in the state. After the central government announced to cancel CBSE Class 12 Board exams, CISCE also cancelled its board exams.

Following suit, several state governments have also decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams.
