Tamil Nadu School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan has said decision on public exams for classes 10,11 and 12 will be taken by the end of December. The schools have been locked for almost seven months enforced by coronavirus pandemic.
Online classes and teaching through Television channels are in progress. The online mode of teaching has covered only a part of the syllabus. The government already pared the syllabus by 40% as the students and teachers felt it as cumbersome. Board exams would be conducted with that remaining 60% of the syllabus. Both Teachers and students are unhappy with the online classes as it is a new method and takes time to cope with.
The government was keen on reopening schools for classes 9 to 12 from November 16 but the decision was postponed after a meeting with the parents. A recent announcement made say the schools will not be opened till December end, however official announcements like Odisha state has to be made.
