The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) gave the approval to EKVI air training Organization Pvt. Ltd that will be based at Salem Airport.

This will be the first flying training organization in Tamil Nadu. This would give ambitious pilots in Tamil Nadu training options in accordance with DGCA requirements as the only licensed flight training school in the area, helping to expand the nation’s aviation industry.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the regulatory authority responsible for overseeing civil aviation in India. Its main focus is on ensuring safety in air transport services to, from, and within India. The DGCA enforces civil air regulations, air safety standards, and airworthiness criteria. It also coordinates its regulatory functions with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The DGCA has several responsibilities, including the registration of civil aircraft, setting airworthiness standards for Indian-registered aircraft, and issuing certificates of airworthiness. It also licenses pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, flight engineers, and air traffic controllers.

The DGCA certifies aerodromes and communication, navigation, and surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) facilities. It grants Air Operator’s Certificates to Indian carriers and regulates air transport services operated by Indian and foreign operators. The DGCA conducts investigations into accidents and incidents, takes measures for accident prevention, and promotes safety management programs.

The DGCA is essential to India's civil aviation safety regulation and assurance. It is responsible for several things, including aircraft registration, airworthiness requirements, personnel licensing, facility certification, accident investigation, legislative changes, airspace coordination, environmental compliance, and the encouragement of domestic aircraft production.

Aspiring pilots in Tamil Nadu now have new options and hope thanks to the clearance of EKVI Air Training Organization Pvt. Ltd. With access to accredited training programs, students can now set out on a path to realizing their aspirations of becoming accomplished aviators. The FTO's extensive training program will include theoretical lectures, training in the flight simulator, and actual flight time, guaranteeing a well-rounded education that will prepare students for the fast-paced aviation sector.
