Chennai: Five people have lost their lives in the traditional jallikattu game played during the Pongal festival in the state of Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you that in the game of Jalikattu, people try to control the bull. During this time, some players get injured due to the bull and some die.

The bull injured a 32-year-old member of the Jalikattu Sports Organizing Committee in Wadalamalpur under Pudukottai district during the program. S. Vadivel, who lived in Rajavayal at Pudukottai Government Medical College, died during treatment. 27-year-old spectator injured during the game in Avaniapuram. Algar died on Wednesday at the Government Rajaji Hospital.

300 players participated in this game held on Saturday at Erode Tandal to control 350 bulls. P. Karthik of Madurai succeeded in gaining control of 14 bulls. For this, he was given a bike, smart phone and wrist watch as a reward. 550 players took part in the Kolamedu village near Attur in Salem district to control 750 sixty-one.
