Virudhnagar: The level of statements has come down considerably in politics. Tamil Nadu minister KT Rajendra Balaji has made derogatory remarks on a Congress MP. He has appealed to beat Congress MP Manikam Tagore with slippers. Balaji said that he has asked people to beat him with slippers when he comes to ask for votes. The dairy minister of Tamil Nadu said that he felt that the candidate selection for the by-election for Nanguneri assembly constituency would be going on in Delhi. Manikam Tagore is currently an MP.

He told the workers that "if he comes and asks for your vote, then beat him with broken slippers". The minister accused the Congress MP of never coming to his constituency and made lewd remarks against him. The minister said that "neither he came to ask for your vote in the Lok Sabha elections nor did he come to thank you after being elected. He is a thankless man who lives in Delhi with his family".
