New Delhi: People have been surprised to see the Tanga( horse cart) race on the streets of Delhi on Sunday evening. On getting the information, the police blocked the people who were conducting the tanga race and stopped them and took them into custody. The incident is being reported from Central Delhi around 4:30 pm. According to the police, they received information that Some people are also doing tanga race on the road of Delhi. Police came to know that this tanga race was going towards Paharganj crossing Rajghat via Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. As soon as the information was received, the Delhi Police team swung into action and barricaded the Kamla Market area.

Soon after the police became active, the tangas stopped near the police barricade. After which the police took action and seized 4 tangas and took 6 people riding on them into custody. After these accused, four people riding on scooty and bike have also been arrested. According to the police, there were 4 people riding on two scooties and a bike. These people were walking in front of the tanga and are also clearing the traffic.

Police is investigating after registering a case: Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the matter. Along with this, the police has also imposed a section of ill-treatment against animals on the accused. The police have seized all four tangas, two scooties and a bike. The horses have been handed over to the MCD. The police is engaged in further action in this case.
