Tarun Dhillon and Sukant Kadam won gold and silver medals respectively in the 'SL 4' category at the Brazil Para Badminton International in Sao Paulo while Tokyo Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat also won two bronze medals in the 'SL 3' event. A total of 28 medals were also won in India's bag. The Indian Para Badminton contingent won eight Gold, 7 Silver and 13 Bronze medals. In the 'SL4' category, world number three Kadam defeated Marshal Adam of Germany 21.19, 21.13 but lost to Tarun in the final.
The match between Tarun and Kadam was very exciting but in the end Tarun won by 21.17, 20.22 and 21.18. Kadam said- I am a little disappointed with the result as I had bet everything. Tarun played well and managed to score the deciding points. I am improving my game in every tournament. World number one Bhagat was defeated by Kumar Nitesh by 21.7, 19.21, 21.19. Nitesh defeated Daisuke Fujihara of Japan 21.15, 18.21, 21.18 to win the gold medal. In mixed doubles, Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli were defeated by Japan's Fujihara and Akiko Sugino by three sets.
Apart from Nitesh and Tarun, Parul Parmar, Jyoti Parmar, Jyoti Verma, Manisha Ramdas, Hardik Makkar, Rutik Raghupati, Arwaz Ansari, Deep Ranjan Bisoi, Manisha Ramdas, Mandeep Kaur have also won gold medals. Prem Kumar Ale, Mandeep Kaur, Nitya S, Palak Kohli, Parul Parmar, Chirag Baretha, Mandeep Kaur, Tarun Dhillon, Nitesh Kumar won silver medals. Manoj Sarkar, Nilesh Gaikwad, Dhingaram, Ammu Mohan, Manoj Sarkar, Vikram Kumar, Chirag Baretha, Nilesh Gaikwad, Prem Kumar, Abu Hubaidah, Shashank Kumar. Ammu Mohan, Ammu Mohan, Arati Patil, Nitya S, Latai Umrekar, Pramod Bhagat, Palak Kohli also won bronze medals.
