New Delhi: Tata Motors has announced that a racer version of the Altroz hatchback will be available in India. It was earlier showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.

The vehicle features an attractive design, a spacious feature-packed interior, and is powered by a powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. So, what are the best features of the Altroz Racer? Let's investigate.

Compared to the standard Altroz, the Tata Altroz Racer promises better looks, more features and better performance. When it goes on sale in India, it will no doubt attract a huge number of buyers.

The performance-oriented hatchback will compete with rivals like Hyundai i20 N line, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza in our market.

The Tata Altroz racer features a stylish dual-tone red and black paint scheme, along with checkered white stripes that run from the bonnet to the roofline.

The car also gets a big blacked-out grille and swept-back headlights, giving it a menacing look. Glossy alloy wheels are available in it. Meanwhile, the 'Racer' badging on the fenders reflects the racing DNA of the car.

The cosmetic upgrades continue on the inside with red accents and white stripes on the seats and dashboard. In terms of technology, there are ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a voice-activated electric sunroof and a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment panel on offer. There is no need to worry about the safety of the passengers as there are six airbags.

Instead of tinkering with the mechanicals, the company has upgraded the powertrain of the vehicle. The Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Nexon that makes 118hp and 170Nm of torque.

This car has the same power as the Hyundai i20 N Line, but with 2Nm less torque (172Nm). The hatchback's transmission is handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox.
