'Tata Motors reported on Saturday that they sold 11,522 electric vehicles in the second quarter of FY23. In comparison to Q2 FY22, the domestic manufacturer claimed a 326 percent increase. Tata anticipates that during the holiday season, more individuals will switch to electric automobiles. Additionally, the supply ought to increase when semiconductor difficulties are resolved.

Tata Motors sold 3,655 electric vehicles in September 2022, a 239% increase over the same month the previous year. 43,999 ICE automobiles were sold by the company in the same time frame. In contrast, they sold 24,652 ICE automobiles last year. So, on an annual basis, the increase % is 78. 80,633 units were sold in the United States overall in September. In contrast, this number was 55,988 units last year.

The Tiago EV was just introduced by Tata Motors in the Indian market. It is now the most inexpensive electric hatchback available. It is priced from Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Tiago EV has opened up new vistas and is positioned to lead the mass adoption of EVs across the nation, according to Mr Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. “Going forward, we expect the festive season will witness strong retails on the back of improving supply of vehicles" said Chandra.

Two battery packs are supplied for the Tiago EV. The smaller battery pack has a 19.2 kWh capacity and a 250 km claimed range. It has a maximum output of 45 kW and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. It has a 6.2 second 0-60 kmph time.

The larger battery pack has a 24 kWh capacity and a 315 km claimed driving range. It has a maximum output of 55 kWh and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. It can reach 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds of acceleration.
