Tata Sky's HD set-top box can now be purchased for just Rs 1,499. Earlier it was priced at Rs 1,899. Tata Sky's SD set-top box is priced at Rs 1,399, though it's just the price of the set-top box. Customers will need to pay separately for the installation. The cut will go a long way in helping Tata Sky build a stronghold in the DTH market.
If you talk about Airtel Digital TV, its HD set-top box is available for just Rs 769. In terms of price, Tata Sky is not combating Airtel Digital TV. Airtel Digital TV's SD set-top is available for Rs 569. You'll also need to pay separately for installation.
