New Delhi: Teachers' Day is being celebrated across the country today. The President praised all the awardees and said that their confidence is further strengthened that the creation of future generations is safe in the hands of qualified teachers. He recalled former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a scholar and philosopher, holding many positions, but he wanted him to be remembered as a teacher. The birth anniversary of Dr. Radhakrishnan is celebrated as Teachers' Day in the country.

At the same time, President Kovind recalled his teachers in his address and said, "Our teachers have an important place in everyone's life. Till today, I am reminded of my respected teachers. I feel fortunate that after taking over as President, I had the opportunity to go to my school, to honor my elderly teachers, and seek their blessings."

He added, "My predecessor, President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, used to attribute his success as a scientist to his teachers. He used to talk about a teacher in his school whose interesting style of teaching led him to become an aeronautical engineer in his childhood. Dr. Kalam was so excited to teach the students that he would get involved whenever he got an opportunity."
