Kozhikode: A 12-year-old boy has died of Nipah infection in the Kozhikode district of Kerala amid the corona epidemic. Thereafter, the Central Government seems to be on alert. A central team has been sent to Kerala after the death of the child. This was reported by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday. Samples were taken from the body of the victim boy. The samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune where the presence of Nipah infection was confirmed.

The same Central Government has sent a team of National Centre for Disease Control to Kerala which will reach there on Sunday. The health ministry said the team will provide technical support to the state. The Centre has suggested some immediate public health steps, including the family of the victim boy, other families, villages, and areas with similar geographical conditions, especially in Malappuram to investigate cases of infection.

These include searching for people who have come in the last 12 days in contact with the victims, isolate the people who have come in contact and collect samples for testing in the laboratory and send them for testing. Tell you that when a bat eats fruits, its saliva falls on those fruits. This leads to Nipah infection. Nipah infection spread in 2018 in Kozhikode and Mallapuram districts of Kerala.
