The LUCKNOW Super Giants, captained by KL Rahul, registered a stunning 20-run win in the IPL 2022 match against Punjab Kings on Friday and won the sixth match of the season. Playing first, the Lucknow Super Giants team scored 153 runs. Chasing the target of 154 runs given by Lucknow, Punjab Kings XI could only manage 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and lost the match. At the same time, Rahul criticized the team by keeping his point in front of them despite the victory, saying that we played a stupid game with the bat. Rahul credited the team's bowlers for the win and said, "We have experience in our batting order and we should have taken full advantage of it. Apart from Quinton Dekock and Deepak Hooda, if the rest of the batsmen had batted thoughtfully, they would have easily scored 180-190. I'm disappointed with the team's batting.''

At the same time, praising KL Rahul, former Team India captain and legendary player Little Master Sunil Gavaskar said that the captain of the Lucknow team in the IPL has proved with his game that you do not need to invent new kinds of shots to score runs fast. If you have a shot, choose it right and all their shot selections have been excellent. He is performing brilliantly. He further said that the best thing about KL Rahul's batting is that there is nothing artificial in his style and whatever shot he plays is a natural shot of cricket.

Lucknow Super Giants, the new team that has been included for the first time in this season of IPL, has grabbed everyone's attention with their performance and have won six out of the nine matches they have played so far. Rahul can win the title of being the most successful captain of this season as he is the highest run-scorer this season. In IPL 2022, he has scored 374 runs in 9 matches at an average of 53.43. These include two centuries and a half-century. For this, he has hit 34 fours and 15 sixes so far this season. Rahul is second only to Jos Buttler in the list of top scorers of the season.

Talking about Rahul's best game, he is the only batsman in the world who scored his century by hitting a six in all the three cricket formats i.e. Test, ODI and T20. Rahul made his Test debut against Australia in Melbourne in 2014. After this, he made his debut in 2016 against Zimbabwe in Harare and then in the T20I match of Zimbabwe this year.

On January 11, 2019, the BCCI suspended KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya for making objectionable statements during a television show. He was then sent home before the ODI series against Australia. However, on January 24, 2019, the BCCI ended this suspension. This year, Rahul captained the Indian team in the Test match against South Africa in January and scored a half-century in the first match as a captain. While after this, in the ODI series that started, he captained the Indian team.
