New Delhi: India beat England by 36 runs in the fifth and final of the T20 series. With this win, India has captured the series 3-2. In the final, India had given England a mammoth target of 225 runs. In reply, England was 188. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took 2 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs, was adjudged man of the match. Team India captain Virat Kohli, who scored three half-centuries in the series, won the Man of the Series award.

Earlier, England won the toss and invited India to the first balloting. The Indian team put up a mammoth score of 224 for 2 in the innings of captain Virat Kohli (unbeaten 80) and vice-captain Rohit Sharma (64) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chasing it, the English team fought on the strength of David Malan (68) and Josh Butler (52), but Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15/2) led Indian bowlers to stop him at 188 for the loss of 8 wickets.

For India, Shardul Thakur scored 45 for three and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets for 15, while all-rounder Hardik Pandya scored 34 and T Natarajan took 39 runs to take one wicket. Team India would like to continue this (Test series starting test series) against England in the ODI series, the first of which will be played in Pune on March 23.
