Telangana: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the state president of the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party, was arrested by Karimnagar police on Sunday evening during a demonstration, according to local authorities.
Kumar was apprehended by police while protesting in Karimnagar, requesting that the state's teacher concerns be resolved. "The detention of Telangana BJP chairman Bandi Sanjay is a heinous crime that leads to the assassination of democracy." In his office, he was peacefully staging a protest while adhering to all COVID protocols. "Police forcibly invaded his office and assaulted him," said JP Nadda, the BJP's national president.
"Seeing the BJP's win in recent bypolls and the support that our party is gaining in the state, the K Chandrashekhar Rao administration has gone insane." "Against the police action, we will pursue all legal and democratic options," he continued.
V Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, tweeted, "Condemn the high-handedness of Telangana State Police and the arrest of Bandi Sanjay Kumar ahead of Jagarana Deeksha."
"I condemn the arrest of State President Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other BJP leaders in Karimnagar in order to thwart the Jagarana Deeksha, which was held to demand the removal of Government Order 317 on the employees' transfer policy," BJP leader N Ramchander Rao tweeted.
