K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, left for Mumbai on Sunday to meet with Maharashtra's Uddhav Thackeray. Rao, often known as KCR, has recently stepped up his attempts to bring non-BJP political parties together across the country.

KCR was joined by a team of TRS leaders on Sunday, including his daughter and MLC K. Kavita, as well as MPs J. Santosh Kumar and Ranjit Reddy. Over Wednesday, Thackeray spoke with Chandrasekhar Rao on the phone and invited him to Mumbai. The BJP’s erstwhile partner in Maharashtra, Shiva Sena is heading the state in a coalition with the Congress and NCP.

KCR has already expressed his willingness to play a crucial role in forging a nationwide anti-BJP alliance. Apart from the Shiv Sena, KCR is also going to see Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda in Karnataka. After the BJP began aggressively targeting the ruling TRS party in Telangana, KCR has gone on the attack against it.
