Hyderabad: Telangana's Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) government has withdrawn the consensus for the central probe agency CBI. Now CBI will not be able to investigate Telangana cases. Let us inform you that, CM K Chandrashekhar Rao made a serious allegation on the BJP of offering huge amounts to buy MLAs. After this, the BJP demanded a CBI inquiry, calling the allegations false. Meanwhile, taking a big decision, KCR withdrew the consensus from the CBI. 

The Telangana government informed the High Court in this regard on Saturday (October 29). However, no government order has been issued in this matter yet. As per the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act 1946, General Consent is required for CBI investigation in any state. Now Telangana has become the 10th state which has stayed the CBI investigation. 

Telangana Home Secretary Ravi Gupta has said in his order that the consent which was given to CBI members under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act on 23 September 2016 stands withdrawn. From now onwards the CBI will have to take the approval of the state government separately for each case investigated.
